Ronnie Moore believes his side's four points haul from the last two games could easily have been six.

After Rovers defeated Huddersfield 2-1 at the Galpharm Stadium, they followed it up with a 2-2 draw at Peterborough on Saturday.

The Manager told Tranmere World: "I think you've got to be happy [with four points], but still frustrated. Four points is a reasonable amount for the teams we had to play, but if we'd had the killer instinct we'd have seen the game off at Peterborough.

"I can't have a go at them as I was pleased with their effort and commitment. Looking at the chances created the game should have been over at half time. Barry Fry said to me after the game that we should have been five up and on the motorway at half time."

Moore says Tranmere's failure to defend a set piece once again proved costly.

He added: "The number of set plays that teams score at our level is unbelievable. Once the ball goes dead players switch off. We've really gone through it in training, but you can't legislate for what happens in a game. If one person sleeps in the unit it costs everyone dear. It's not like it has been one person every time who we can take out and change, the goals we've conceded from set pieces have come from three or four different players. It shows that our mentality has to be better when the ball is dead.

"Some managers use zonal marking, but we use touch tight marking. Players know who they are marking and they need to take more responsibility and come alive from set plays. The more we do it in training, the better we'll get. You have to rely on the individual being bright. Players have dozy minutes, sometimes you get away with it and the other team misses, sometimes they score."

Meanwhile, Moore hopes to see young striker Terry Gornell benefit from his month on loan at Accrington Stanley in League Two,

"Terry got a lot of football with us in pre-season," he continued. "But we've got Ian, Greeny, Sonko, Bas, Craig and Shuker, six attackers. Rather than Terry not getting on the bench here and playing in our Reserves, it's a great opportunity for him to go and play league football.

"We're not throwing him out of the Club, it's a learning curve for him. He's got a lot of potential and he's going to be a player. I went out on loan to Pwllheli in Wales when I was a player and it did me good. It can only make Terry a better player. I'll always let my lads go out to learn."
