The 27-year old joined Tranemre from newly promoted League Two champions and Johnstone's Paint Trophy winners Milton Keynes Dons where he spent the previous four seasons.
Edds, from Sydney, Australia, began his career in England as a trainee with Nottingham Forest.
He joined Milton Keynes Dons in 2004 following spells at Bradford City and Swindon Town and has made more than 200 career appearances, almost 150 of which came for Milton Keynes Dons.
One of the highlights of his time there was his double strike against Tranmere on the last day of the 2004-05 season which saw his side avoid relegation to League Two.
He also represented Australia Under-20s at the Under-20 World Cup in Argentina in 2001.
