Tranmere completed the signing of central defender Ben Chorley on a two-year contract in June 2007.
Then aged 24, he joined from Milton Keynes Dons where he made more than 130 appearances.
Chorley began his career as a trainee at Arsenal where he won the FA Youth Cup in 2001. He joined MK Dons when they were known as Wimbledon and made 45 appearances in the Championship.
He spent three months of the 2006-07 season on loan at Gillingham and scored the winning goal against Tranmere at Prenton Park in December.
He made 36 appearances in his first season at Tranmere.
