Tranmere completed the signing of defender Antony Kay on a two-year contract in June 2007.
Kay joined from Barnsley where he made almost 200 appearances.
He had played with Barnsley since a schoolboy and was vice captain in 2006-07. He can play in the centre or right side of defence and central midfield, was a key member of the Barnsley squad that gained promotion to the Championship in 2005-06 and scored the winning penalty in the Play Off final against Swansea City.
He made 45 appearances for Tranmere in 2007-08, scoring six times.
