Tranmere completed the signing of Welsh international goalkeeper Danny Coyne on a two-year contract in July 2007.
The 33-year old returned to Prenton Park for a second spell, having made more than 100 appearances between 1992 and 1999.
After leaving Tranmere in 1999 Coyne made more than 200 appearances for Grimsby Town. He then played for Leicester City in the Premiership before moving to Burnley in 2004.
Manager Ronnie Moore said at the time of signing: "Danny is a top quality international goalkeeper who is well known to everybody at the Club.
"We beat a number of Championship clubs to his signature and I'm delighted he is part of our squad.
"I honestly believe we've got the best goalkeeper in League One with the signing of Danny."
