Reserves: Morecambe 0 Tranmere 2
Tranmere Reserves defeated league leaders Morecambe 2-0 at Christie Park on Wednesday night.
Rovers took the lead on 44 minutes with a move started by Ryan Mitchell at the back. His long ball reached Craig Curran who ran with the ball before finding Mike Jones. The winger beat one man before passing to Ryan Fraughan who found the net from around ten yards.
Eleven minutes into the second half the lead was doubled, with Curran scoring after a fine solo run.
Reserve Team Coach Shaun Garnett said: "It was a very good performance, probably our best of the season. We passed the ball well and our movement was exceptional.
"There were solid performances from all of the professionals - John Achterberg, Danny Holmes, Mike Jones, Paul Henry and Craig Curran."
