Shuker: "The More Games I Have The Better I'll Get"
Chris Shuker admits he has yet to get back to reach the standards he set earlier in his Tranmere career.
The winger missed a large chunk of last season through injury and says he just needs games to get back to top form.
He said: "I've been out for a while and I feel a bit rusty. I'm nowhere near my best at the moment but I will get there. I'd only played 45 minutes since May 3rd and that was against Liverpool and I didn't get a kick.
"In my first game back last season I didn't go near anyone because I was wary of the injury. I think I got tackled once. I'm feeling a bit better now as I've got a few bruises and scratches. I used to get fouled for fun, I don't feel I get fouled enough these days as I'm not causing enough problems for the opposition. The more I start getting fouled the better I'll be playing. I'll definitely get back to my best. I'm doing loads of leg work every day before training and this is the best I've felt.
"Against Northampton I didn't play well. The other night was an improvement, but it's still nowhere near where I want to be. The more games I have the better I'll get."
